Handlebar Bend Question

#1 Postby TeamNoSlack » Thu Nov 09, 2017 10:09 pm

So I believe that the bend is also causing the arm issue...'

Looking for a set of taller bars with less rake.... What bars do you have that are tall and have less rake? I don't know what bars are on my 300 KTM.

Go!!!!

That’s not a question but I see the point. I’d start w figuring out what bar you currently have then comparing that against one of the many brands bend/riser diagrams

ProTaper woods high bars have been good to me. Upon comparison they are not too different from the Neken's that were stock on my 09 tho... Don't remember how they were so similar tho.... I'm no help!

haha!!! Sorry Bill! I will go out in the garage and look today. I'm pretty sure the rise and bend were almost identical with a little less sweep....

Renthal KTM low have minimal sweep. Same sweep and rise as 2009 KTM 300xcw bars by Neken. I put these on my 2017 with 20mm bar risers and they made a HUGE difference for me. Did I send you the spread sheet that I made?

Problem with these charts is that they show sweep in distance not degrees. As the control length changes with constant sweep distance, the angle changes. And vice versa. That's why I made a spreadsheet. If anyone wants the Excel file send me your email.

Bill,
I have seen and liked Jim's setup. I currently run a Renthal FatBar with KTM High Bend with a Scotts Sub mount Stabilizer. These sit pretty high but I'm also a foot taller than you. LOL. I recently purchased the Renthal FatBar RC Mini/85cc Bend because the bars are already at a cut down length and have a little higher height than the KTM High Bars.

You are more then welcome to try my bike out for bar feel or we can pull the bars off and you can try the bars on your bike to see how you like them before ordering a set. We should get together and ride sometime anyway.

Jim I'd like that sizing chart and/or maybe you could run the 2 bars I have to compare them to yours.
KTM High Bend is 31.70" width, 3.74" height, 1.65" Pull back.
RC Mini/85cc Bend is 29.13" width, 4.65" height, 1.65" Pull back.

Good luck with your research Bill
